The most spectacular scientific advancements in recent times is the uncovering of large overlap (co-morbidity) of Diabetes with neuropsychiatric disorders even at the genetic level, and the central role of stress, allostatic load and behavioural aspects in control and outcome of Diabetes. On the positive side, there is good evidence of effectiveness of Mind-Body Interventions, and global call for combining standard medical treatment with Mind-Body interventions, as adjuvant therapy which is rapidly becoming the gold standard of patient- centric care.
